Docked behind the Great Lakes Science Center is the William G. Mather Steamship. Built in 1925 and measuring 618 feet it was once the flagship of the Cleveland-Cliffs Line. The Mather use to navigate the Great Lakes delivering ore, coal, stone, and other materials to steel plants located throughout the Midwest. Attendees can purchase tickets to tour the Mather through the Great Lakes Science Center website.
